"Windows search, the most robust, helpful feature!" - No one.

You can find the rest of the search results in Outlook. Its search engine finds patterns that you didn't search for.

That might be deliberately done to hide system utilities and stuff from your everyday user.

Searching Bluetoot brings up Airplane Mode instead of Bluetooth settings. Adding that last h shows the correct item. So stupid...

@RememberMe I used to work on the Windows team. Trust me, they don't think things through like that.

1903 is improving search a bit. Just a bit. Although the app called "everything" made by "void tools" is stupid fast and works and even supports regex if you want to search filenames like that.

@arcadesdude hopefully by the time they reach 2019 they'll fix that search feature for good. Too bad they're 116 years behind....

What really gets me going is when it correctly suggests your command while typing, but as you complete the word it drops the suggestion D:

@netikras Yeah it really will take them that long or longer if they actually keep improving. At least Cortana is being decoupled from regular search and 1903 seems to search apps and documents first now rather than web results like previous windows 10 versions. Still I'd rather use a consistent 3rd party search tool that works. I do remember windows xp search worked ok but after Vista is keep going downhill.

I hate that it doesn't admit to be searching, when it says no result, if you wait long enough it will mostlikely show up. Regarding you're issue, it's because the command most likely is specified in PATH, and it only "accepts" whole filenames and omitting extension

Wherever you don't even know how to implement search.
