!!!

If you want to code on windows, just punch your self in the face. It will save you a lot of time.

    Most Windows issues are PEBCAK 🤫🤫

    @Stuxnet some of it, ya

    It depends on what you're coding. If you're writing an application in .NET to run on Microsoft's platform, then Windows is the best thing to do that on. If you're writing for literally any other platform in something that is not .NET - then yes, all your tools will be second class citizens on Windows and you'll have random issues with line endings and file paths and libraries that contain native code bindings not working properly.

    And I do coding on Windows all the time.

    Use windows
    Have Linux VMs
    Enjoy both fucking worlds and get over it.

    @C0D4 Shhh don't use logical thinking lol
  • 6
    @Stuxnet sorry, these windows reee... Linux godlike rants are starting to get to me 😂

    Why people can't mix tools to suit their needs I'll never understand.

    @C0D4 swear to God man.

    I'mma be first in line to defend windows, but I still use Linux almost daily and wanna use it even more.

    Like they both have usages, pros and their own cons. It's baffling man.

    @Stuxnet I know right.
    Pros and cons are always important.
    But isolating ones self to a single ecosystem gives you a very narrow lens on how everything works... or doesn't work.

    try to code with windows API on MacOS 😂

    Use WSL, everybody wins.

    @jOkEr-jAsOn you don't know that one?

    @C0D4

    Becouse people love to repeat themselves.

    Its just easier.

    Thats my nano rant:

    I code on windows. Becouse I dont give enough fucks to switch to linux. Only benefit is lot faster execution time, but its miliseconds anyway, so what I can benefit? 0.5% of time? Given my ease of breaking linux desktops? Nope. I never ran into issues with my win7 machine. Stop repeating self for sake of repeating self. Arguments are well known. And yes, i prefer bash to cmd/powershell. But I dont need to overuse these tools when I write in fucking graphical IDE.

    Same goes for php. Php 4 was bad. Very bad. Early php 5 wasnt good either. But it was years ago but peiple are repeating self to avoid looking at php 7.3 which would prove lot of valid points in php below 5.2 just plain invalid in php 7.1+ times.

    Ugh. Okay, i feel better. For now. But next time i see that again im gonna tilt for sane reasons again.. Sigh.

    But hey, @C0D4 , here you have legit anwser. Lazy repeating.

    @C0D4 I said windows man not on VMs. also you are right but natively it really wont cut or I least my stupidity wont make it work.

    @Stuxnet it seems you know a lot of things why don't you give a solution or tip like @COD4 did rather than placing a shit on a rant.

    @dyslxr

    Becouse there is no problem stated. Only clearly stated problem is "some people belive windows is shit" but i cant see why, whats your problem, tell us, we will offer solution. If fact alone that its windows is the problem, use linux and enoy it. Plenty of options, maybe dual boot is good for you. We cant take solutions from our ass and present it becouse its solution for problem we have to assume you have, not for factual problem.

    TL;DR
    Solution to what problem?

    E: typo

    @dyslxr shocker I pissed off a 'nix fanboy.

    @DubbaThony said it perfectly my man. I've got nothing against rants about Windows nor do I deny it having issues. But this was basically just screeching without any context as to why coding sucks on Windows.

    But either way, use whatever you want. It's all shitty software at the end of the day.

    @DubbaThony Its okay man :) Im using dual boot. but thanks for asking I just wonder how friendly windows without vms coding for linux.

    no problem here. just a rant.

    @dyslxr

    So honestly... Both windows and linux are friendly but different ways, both require different mindsets. Both have pros and cons. I adore windows 7 for stability* and I dont have to be genius to have same install 5 Nth year* without any funky issues that something went wrong, Windows is way harder to permamently kill than linux, i have more of course, and cherry on top is nice UI that I like (yep, i actually care about aero glass)

    * given adequate care.

    Linux also has its advantages over windows. I use linux on all servers. For me server = linux. Precisely I use debian becouse my first linux was ubuntu and got used to it.
