Skipp23468yI effin hate openspace. I actually don't mind having a team sitting together. That makes sense - but everyone in a huge room is just a noisefest

youprat11598ySo true. But, I really like it. Those who want privacy for whatever amount of time grab a conference room, or use headphones. Because we are a startup, and we need to exchange ideas a lot. It works well. Maybe because we are 30 people right now. Might be an issue when we are 70.

iAmNaN71318yWe have 150-160 per open area. Lots of noise and distraction. I just love it when a team decides to have their stand-up right behind me. How can I read DevRant?

Eldius6818y@xinuxunil to the devRant problem, I saw a project in the community projects where you navigate the feed as a JSON (people around you will think you're "the JavaScript guy")...

Eldius6818yAbout the openspace, I like to work with my headphone... Working with a bunch of people or alone, I'm always with my headphones (sometimes it's not playing anything, but it's always on)...

MindTrap2418yIndeed but..since programmer's life is a bit lonely, being around people, even if u have to wear headphones to retain privacy, can make your working experience more pleasant, feeling not so isolated. U could say it's the programmer's way to socialize :p

zfor14868yOpenspace is a good thing, but not for devs. I once worked at a company where all the devs from different projects sit together with support, operations, design and sales. ~70-80 people. Imagine the background noise.
