One is made mainly for ease of use, scripting needs and is very easy to introduce bugs into.
The other is a very highly thought-out language which has even made it's way to operating space crafts since it is so reliable and sturdy.
The choice is yours kids.... -
enitoni4378y@codeRetard This is like commenting on a picture of two girls and saying "That girl is so cute!" and hilarity ensues as they try to figure which you meant.

I know this, I just wanted to show that some are just not as simple to start learning. @codeRetard

@enitoni Nothing a little bit of Googling won't help you with. But I went with the same positioning of the picture with my message structure.
The buggy script junkie is Python & the space explorer is of course Java! -
enitoni4378y@codeRetard Really? The first success story about Python is about NASA... https://python.org/about/success/...

@enitoni When ease of use has been the aim sure but in mission critical operations Java is always used. Can't seem to find the new article online for some reason right now. The European Space Agency also lost a rocket due to ill programming in Java resulting in Buffer Overflows back in the 90s if memory serves right.

@codeRetard the thing with that comment is that either statement could apply to either language...
-
@codeRetard no, in Mission critical operations, c, c++, or assembly is used. No need for the extra overhead of a Java virtual machine if you are building something for specialized equipment.
-
@codeRetard Except that didn't happen because of Java. That happened because they used software designed for a previous rocket on a newer one, with a completely different launch sequence that the original code wasn't made to handle. The developers made valid assumptions for the older rocket that didn't apply to the new one.
