!dev but rant

Samsung
Samsung...

Samsung!! What the fuck is wrong with you?
Some longer time ago you earned forst red red flag called knox. What the fuck you mean there is physical diode in phone that will burn out when I do whatever I want with phone? Its my phone. My. I live in europe and european law is with me. Its **MY** stuff and Im allowed to be super user so fuvk off with knox bullshit.

Okay, now, more and more phone are missing critical feature to save few cents a phone. You were last bastion. You were **that** company who was loyal to audio jacks. And why the fuck you plan to remove it? You know what? That one thing brought your phones from one of best (becouse retained audio jacks and didnt do much of notch fuckupery) to literally worst one thanks to knox.

And before anyone tells me bullshit apple tried to say "thats space saving", no its not true to point where one of their very own Iphones had internally space and traces for audio jacks. Its to save pennies on phone for profit margins and to force us to use bluetooth stuff, that I dislike. I stick to my K518 few years now and I am super happy user of it. Why y'all want to take away good stuff?

Oneplus, your turn. Why the luving fuck your big bulletpoint of marketing was "yes, we will keep loyal to audio jacks" and later down the line you shown one big fat middle finger to all users.

Goos job, guys, well fucked up.

So any good modern alternatives for my OnePlus 5 when it becomes obstole in few years? Nope. Fuck nope.

OP7 pro is awesome but no audio jacks absolutely kills off this phone in my eyes to level of not existance and inability to be considered.

I have a Nokia 6 2018. Not a high-end device, but it works, with updates, and audio jack.

I'm a loyal fan of OnePlus and have been for years. I also love my wireless headsets both for sports and everyday use. Not gonna lie, not having an audio jack is kind of a dealbreaker for me too, even though I haven't used it in my current phone for years. I like having the option of using my emergency headset when my wireless runs out of battery..

@Elyz I am former OP fanboy... Audio jack killed my fanboying

    Audio 👏🏻 jacks 👏🏻 are 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 dying 👏🏻 piece 👏🏻 of 👏🏻 technology.

You might not wanna accept it while autistically screeching, but they're not gonna be around too much longer.

Like damn you can get very good earbuds for $20 thar are Bluetooth. Truly wireless ones will set you back like $75 for a good pair. These numbers are gonna go down too.

@AleCx04 basically, I got "Samsung bad reee. OnePlus bad reeee. No audio jack reee" but I could be wrong lmao. But I agree with the first part. At least he's passionate about what he likes, but at some point you also gotta adapt.

@Stuxnet while I agree, until we can all agree on a USBC standard and switch to USBC headphones with DACs inside the phones to keep costs down, we're not there yet.
  • 2
@Techno-Wizard I was reading something about apple supposedly switching to USBC.

Not holding my breath, but it'd be a huge ass deal.

As for low end Android phones, I can see it becoming the norm soon enough.

If hipsters had a say in electricity, we would have to throw away the whole infrastructure every 4 years because 2 kV right from the wall are so much hotter than just 230 / 110 V.

I vote with my wallet. Manufacturer thinks no headphone jack is fine? I think not spending money on his stuff is also fine.

@Stuxnet "very good earbuds" != equal quality, nor that they're better. Wired earphones and headphones are still superior in quality and latency, no matter how much you pay for the wireless counterpart.
Also, some people (myself included) don't wanna have to deal with the bullshit of an *extra* set of batteries, for a higher total cost, and possible compatibility issues, just so a company can force a more expensive product down my throat and call it "innovation".

I have a single pair of earphones that I've been using across all my devices (pc, laptop, phone) for 3 years now, I paid like 10$ for them, the audio quality is great, I can switch device in 2 seconds, and I don't have to worry they might die on me halfway through the day when I'm using them intensively.
No comparable wireless product that can match this performance exists yet, and it won't for at least many more years.
So why should I be forced to switch?

What are you talking about? I own a S10, which is only a few months old and has a jack.
  • 1
@WorstVarNames There was a leak that S10 is last samsung phone with jack.

    @Stuxnet

No. Your approach and mindset is wrong.
    Entirely.

Its companies who need to adept, not users. Users pay for companies products, not vice versa. Users have wallet that is their vote. Samsung capitalized on audio jack, and now they wont. Audio jack is superior to anything that is bluetooth in almost every possible way.

If we have your mindset, we as customers may all change to apple products, becouse thats one of these companies who dont give a half of broken fuc.k about this kind of details but have strong fanboy base that will keep carrying them.

You have ultimately your wallet, you vote on something with it.

If people wouldnt agree on stuff they dislike, notches wouldnt be such popular thing, my rant wouldnt exist, audio jacks would be common and laughable to remove them.

But people are people and we are where we are.

Change your mindset. Dont allow any company tell you what you shoupdnt use.
    Peace.
