C0D4681385yBecause it's coffee or a lot of dead bodies.
To this day, no deaths have occurred, so it must be working. -
iAmNaN71305yWelcome to devRant! I drink mostly water, though I do drink coffee on occasion, and as a Southern heretic, unsweetened iced tea.
-
I don't understand, too. But I have to drink at least 5 cups of coffee when I'm coding
-
Because many of us have shit sleep schedules, which results in us being tired.
Like last week, I averaged 2 to 3 hours a night. Coffee gives them energy.
Personally, I'll drink soda or energy drinks (not the hard core ones) and lots of water. -
Yesh, me neither, MATE is far superior. Can be enjoyed warm or cold, as self brewed tea or club mate, and most importantly: mixes well with vodka.
-
@Vanegas9090 I've found I feel a lot better whenever I drink 2 bottles of water per cup/bottle/can of soda. Keeps me hydrated and I just feel better overall.
Plus I'm outside in the heat for several hours a day, so I have to stay hydrated or I'll pass out like I came extremely close to doing last year -
@Stuxnet yeah I understand that. You know I almost passed out last year, too. I was in a Hackathon and I was drinking a lot of coffee but I wasn't drinking water, and that day was so warm. Since that day I always try to drink 2 bottles of water per cup of coffee
-
You can count me out of that stereotype, personally. I can't stand the stuff. Only hot drink I'll have is hot chocolate, and that's only when a) it's cold out and b) it's made with *real* chocolate.
-
I don't drink a lot of coffee lately. Sleep schedule is still fucked though lmao

first: not just developers
second: helps u focus
third: when u r hooked your dose must increase -
jeeper59685y@Floydian too much coffee yea. Normally the first cup in the morning just keeps me regular!

jeeper59685yThis is a side note from my other rants, but I have this wild hypothesis.
For some developers, coffee mildly re-wires the brain, and allows thinking more logically. Obviously this is something I’ve observed in my self. I’ve always been an emotional decision maker, so choosing to be a dev was a weird choice for me. So between coffee to focus on class in college and the association between learning and coffee, it really seemed to put me in the state of mind to code.
I don't understand why the most of the developers drink a lot of coffee
