@billgates Against the housing, a vacuum cleaner isn't an issue.
However, let the PC run while you clean off the housing so that the airflow won't turn the fans and make them generate current. -
donuts238485y@Fast-Nop let me see what ABS says just emailed them...
What kinda vacuum though? Normal ones would be too strong? Also have to buy a vacuum... Only have a Roomba... -
@billgates then buy a spray can of compressed air or ask your neighbour if you could lend his vacuum cleaner.
-
donuts238485y@heyheni so blow from the inside out? I'm not sure but again the front is filled with hardware so can't get clear access to do that either
-
@billgates I'm just using a normal vacuum cleaner. No issue with several PCs over the last 20 years. I even clean them inside with a vac about once per year.
However, I do ground myself while doing so, just as with electronics soldering. In Germany, we have three contacts in the wall plugs, one of them being earth ground, so that's easy. -
@billgates I have a wrist strap that I wrap around my ankle, then there's a cable, and the other end is a metal clip that I just clip to the earth output of a wall power plug. That's also how the PC housing itself is grounded.

C0D4681385yRemove hardware, and can of air it from the inside... or a pressure hose - these work well too.
As for prevention, you could look at air purifiers if you wanted too, but you don't have a lot of real options unless you fill the holes up. -
donuts238485y@C0D4 but I don't wanna risk breaking it...
I'm not good with hardware and well this is a pretty new and expensive rig. -
C0D4681385y@billgates there's not a whole lot you can break.
Pc parts are pretty good, just don't use excessive force and remember where everything goes.
Ideally you just need inside access to the fro t panel so at worst remove the hard drives, DVD drive? / and pop the front plate off ( usually the clip in from behind ) -
Just vacuum it and be grateful that the filter keeps the dust outside the case. You can use a lower power setting on your vacuum. A vacuum can damage a fan if you make it spin faster than what it's designed for.
It might also be possible to pop the front panel off, wash it, and let it dry before putting it back on. -
Toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner..
I have a Dyson fan with the same fucking holes and for some reason the holes turn into little dust bricks. This works well.. and a vacuum on the outside of your case will be fine as long as it’s off. -
donuts238485y@M1sf3t hmmm... what about the cleaner that cleans the apartment building... Although I'd have to catch him and ask... And well still a risk... Guess will see what the official response but it seems vacuuming is actually a valid option contrary to what I read before...
How do I get all the dust off the holes and keep them out of this (ABS Gaming case)?
