Pyjong10875ySorry for your loss. Whats with the slow people though? Not sure if I found the right one but in your previous insurance rant there is no mention of slow people.

Root797675y@irene I waited for my gf to have time to go through insurance benefits with me before I picked a plan. I reminded her multiple times every week for the past few weeks. She hasn't bothered, and apparently I already missed the cutoff for the entire fucking year.
So now I get to beg HR and claim technical difficulties -- which isn't untrue -- and hope I get a chance. Basically not going to happen. 🤬
@C0D4 No. Just drama caused by inaction and me trying to be nice. 😡 -
C0D4669025y@Root and what have we learnt about being nice?
I'm surprised you didn't just do it without her or am I missing something here that would affect the pair of you? -
Root797675y@irene @C0D4. I thought I had a couple of days left; I logged into the site tonight to do it myself.
Also, I wanted her input because she has time to research things while I'm at work. -
C0D4669025y@Root oh. That makes sense now.
I'd try the "i swear it said I had till Thursday" line and try do it anyway. -
Hi @root
Honestly I find it to be hard to leave people behind but sometimes someone needs to cut some ties! Would you like to tell us what happened?
On a more ranty note:
SOME HUMANS ARE DUMB AS SHIT -
bols597745yOK, if you must go to HR on your knees... TEARS, TEARS, BROKEN, WRACKED SOBS... they'll prolly give you any fucking thing you want after that! lol

Is insurance really that important? Unless you are from USA then medical stuff is mostly covered by public healthcare, and private usually only does small subset of those anyway.
For sports I usually take specific insurance on day-to-day basis, like for example 1-2 days ski insurance in case I bump into someone too hard or break my stuff. -
Root797675y@arraysstartat1 Yep, US. I also have children, which makes this extra important. My 3yo loves e.g. jumping down the stairs, so I kind of want to be insured against him breaking an arm.
For myself I only really want an HSA because that's useful and saves money. Insurance itself is just gambling that you will get hurt and need to spend more than your premiums, and it's the insurers job to make sure their gamble pays off.
But for a fearless 3yo? Definitely a good idea. -
@Root sorry I opend up the comment section the second after you posted that rant I just never hit "Post"
(Until I did obviously much later, I guess I am one of the stupid guys now)
However after reading the story my previous formulation seems to be quiet hard...
FUCKING WAITING FOR PEOPLE FUCKED ME OVER AGAIN. WHO WOULD HAVE FUCKING GUESSED?!
