cursee165985yDon't worry , I'm not planning anything illegal. I just wanna visit both worlds before I die.
-
Download the tor browser on linux, google for the hidden onion wiki and then you can browse it
-
C0D4669445y@dudeking you forgot to handle DNS leakage but close enough.
@Codex404 why else do people use tor? - seriously question here 😅 -
endor56705y@C0D4 whistleblowers and reporters do, it a more secure way to visit a website after all. Hell, even facebook has an onion site afaik.
Tor, I2P, and other privacy tools are not just for criminals. -
C0D4669445y@endor yes FB has a .onion address.
I don't get it, how to be anonymous in a social platform that is 100% unanimous.
Well whistleblowers seem to be illegal these days too, so you know. -
endor56705y@C0D4 the point is to not let others snoop in on what you're doing.
Facebook may not be a great example, but surely there are many other legitimate websites that are available through tor just to ensure the safety of their user's connections. -
C0D4669445y@endor I'm sure there is legitimate sites down there, it's just not a well known place to find them.
As for @linuxxx it's just a giant proxy.... wouldn't a VPN be faster? -
@C0D4 Often, yes. But vpn services don't have the onion routing design and nowadays it's quite fast actually!
-
endor56705y@linuxxx do you use i2p as well? If so, do you have a vps/dedi server hosted somewhere that you use as an access point?

Kasonnara725y@C0D4 I think there is roughly 4 types of user on Tor:
1) A few criminals
2) Probably some whitehat that don't want to arm anyone but still do illegal stuff.
3) A few journalist / whistleblower that may require it for safety reasons.
4) Tons of regular users that use Tor because they can and care about privacy even if they don't require it. And/or want to protect group 3).
How to find dark web?
I guess I need tools like tor and VPN and stuff.
But where do I go as a starting point?
