    Is this shit normal in your country... Or even legal?

    @metamourge Literally everywhere!

    in germoney it is so that you are "allowed" to lie on everything that isnt essential, so instead of leaving it blank you can just say whatever you think would be improve your chances. although, i dont remember anyone ever caring about your religion, except maybe you are deeply muslim and want to do this 5 times praying a day thing..

    @metamourge I don't know about OP's country but in mine they have quotas to fill. "You must have x% of management positions black and x% female. No, you can can have more than that if you want. We're not going to give you a percentage that has to white or male"

    Why not just hire whomever is best qualified?
    Hiring based on anything else is being prejudiced, especially things like sex and race.

    @Root because as @TheBeardedOne mentioned, stupid fucking quotas exist.

    @kescherRant I wouldn't follow them. They're prejudiced and force interviewers/etc. to be bigots.

    @metamourge Legal and enforced. Great Britain isn't that great.

    Definitely. Got hired only to find out it's because I'm Irish and they needed to hire a foreigner. Resigned that week. Told my old boss he doesn't pay me enough to be a card in his deck

    @werlious See I fit all the boxes that I think would get me bumped in place of a more "diverse" hire. I always tried to put myself on the other side of things and still had the opinion of "Well, I wouldn't want the job just because of my demographic"

    Seems like neither side that's affected is okay with it.

    @Root i just got rejected one of the biggest fintech because of their quotas.

    @odite @theunknownguy @werlious
    They make everything worse, for everyone involved. 😕

    @Root no, no, it's only being prejudiced when you're only hiring white people. It's not prejudiced if your criteria are against white people
