The display on my new RPi4 doesn't work properly. Plugged the SD card into a model 3 and everything is fine. RPi4 boots and I can SSH into it but any display I connect it to detects nothing.

Fuckin piece of shit.

I'm still holding out for the Pi4 revision. Hope they can get the USB-C implementation right this time 😒

This is why you don't buy 1st gen devices, half baked to get funding for the revisions.

My rpi3b+ still goes strong.

@C0D4 I have two 3b+ I love them but the 1gb ram is a little out of date. The arm architecture is still the main bottleneck though.

@AlgoRythm the 3b is ok for light browser work and the odd data mining job, but I mostly use it as a web server now, any hard processing I need I just do on my laptop.

Was looking at the 4 (4gb) to build a DYI laptop with for travelling but will be waiting for the revised versions before I go down that path.

@C0D4 I can't remember the last time I used an actual video connection on a pi past the setup stage (to enable ssh)

It's not really powerful enough to run an X server to my standards of smoothness.

I use them for web servers too. They can run node, they're node machines.

@AlgoRythm mines plugged into the tv for hdmi and power - resolution could be better but what ever, I don't use it often - also got to love that USB port on the back of the tv I don't use for anything 😏

@C0D4 Okay, no, you're right, I have a retropie back there. I forgot about that.

My Pi4 is a monster. I use it daily as my media center. I've got it hooked up to my cheap 75 inch Samsung. 4k works as advertised.

The USB c thing was just a bunch of baloney, it works just fine.

Got one of those aluminum cases that acts as a heatsink.

Just brilliant. It's on all day and all night.

Update the firmware. Soo much better now that release.

Were you trying different displays when it stopped working?

@netikras It turned out to be a combination of the case and the HDMI-mini adapter I was using, actually.
