It's easy for a job you love to become something you hate. We have to do our jobs, and build influence at the same time lest we fall victim to this.

You either shape or you get shaped.

It's true. I don't code for fun anymore; it's for work, or it's just another tool. It is no longer fun.

Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely enjoy coding and dev work, but it isn't something I can do for fun anymore. And that is really kind of sad.

But dev work isn't something I want to do for the rest of my life, either. It pays well, and I can use that to invest and make enough in dividends, etc. to retire on. Those are my plans.
