At least since 2005. That's when I first encountered this on Acer laptops. I thought they had improved since.

Maybe try lookup who MSI and others get laptop chasis, there were such companies. Most laptops are rebrands.

Yeah, clevos are exacly the kind of company i mentioned above.

Usually most MSIs, razers and whatnot are just clevos with new paint job

It's a feature, so when you broke things like that, there's small possibilities you would go to their store to fix it. Better than no posibility lol

I have gaming notebook MSI, and I know it will fail and I know what will fail - screen to body hinge/holder/however it translates to english. Becouse thats like only unavailable part to this laptop :/

Thats why im ultra carefull with that - i open/close lid very gently from day one, holding it on dead center of frame, never from sides.

This is what you get when you look for decent and confy machine for dev, but are gamer but need mobility... Somewhat mobility at least.

I know few workers of general make laptop service (the non-official kind) and they all told me to watch out for this part and its hard to come by.

MSI isnt a premium company, my laptop was one of the cheapest with those specs. Even replacement parts for it are cheap. You can also upgrade it very easly

Well, most of their lineup is premium laptops. My laptop (2017 - GTX1070 i7 7820HK gt73vr 6re) did cost considerably more than others with similar specs, but I wanted desktop replacement with beef cooling so thats how I ended up with it.
