FUBAR I think it comes from german where "Furchtbar" means "horrible", if I remember American soldiers adapted this term during world war 2 (but I might be wrong). But it also has the acronym meaning mentioned above.

I don't know how FOOBAR and FUBAR are related though

U is pronounced like the English oo

@just8littleBit probably someone was debugging by putting logs all oder the place..
Then a German said: why does it say fubar everywhere? And the English guy was like: I don’t know but I’ll also put foo bar in my logs now.

I use a lot of metasyncratic variable names.
