public projects? GitHub and git.kescher.at.
private projects? Just git.kescher.at.
Runs on gitea.io, because GitLab is heavy as fuck -
pipe3265y@kescherRant Nice, I never stumbled upon a public self-hosted GitTea before!
@linuxxx Actually an ancient user that deleted his account to start fresh because it was needed. I was around some years ago (when Alice, Floydian, and the angry German dude with epic insults whose username I've forgotten were still active, and when @-ANGRY-STUDENT- was still ANGRY-CLIENT) -
TimoHo445y@kescherRant @pipe Gitea here too!
It's just great to have a self controlled place for all projects
Only disadvantage is that only bots and myself come across that site -
@pipe You mean AlexDeLarge 😅 but he had another name before that I also don't remember 😟

@pipe GitHub for a showcase of my projects and because of the popularity it has. Besides of that the clean UI.
GitLab definitely not as portfolio.
I use gitlab for my own personal private projects and stupid experiments that little to no one should face. Besides of that I use gitlab rarely. That's the sole purpose of me using it.
I hate it's UI.

What is your go to platform to publicly share your git repos? Obviously GitHub is the most popular, but I wonder if there are other platforms that are widely used in the same fashion.
What prevents you from using GitLab or anything else? Is it just Github's popularity or are there features that only GitHub has that keep you to it?
