let him sit next to you for a week? so that he understands you and you him. You'll learn stuff and he learns stuff?

Just smile, wait 45 minutes and then say, "awesome, thank you for the insight. That definitely clears up everything. So, given that, when will you have the spec ready for us?"

My company has some pretty wacky ideas about what they call certain teams and even the word they use for team. Wish I could say what they are but I can't be badmouthing my company with de-anonymised data. Anyway they get very ranty if you use the wrong word
