Am I the only one who gets really excited while looking at how other people solve problems and how they make things? even if not related to dev

There is an interesting innovation method called TRIZ that was created by the USSR back in the day, where the researchers took patents and backwards engineered the problem-solution set to create a systematic process for problem solving based on the type of problem at hand and how it mapped to previously solved problems seen in the patents.

So much to learn from analogous situation if you can spot the patterns.
