fellow ranters, i need your advice!

i'm searching for an ultra portable laptop:
- 11" screen
- full HD resolution

it will run Linux (Kali or other debian based distro) and i need that just to do some work while i'm on the go. I don't need huge performance, so the budget is quite limited (~300 EUR / 350 USD).

is the Thinkpad x220/x230 still the best choice (even if the screen resolution is not full HD)? any other suggestion?

a little confession: i've rarely used test suites in my projects (due to laziness and lack of time).

i've started a new project and now i HAD to write tests in order to make my PM happy.

Then i had to refactor a lot of code.

IT WAS SO EASY WITH TESTS.

STUPID PAST ME, STUPID!

The first time i've scripted something and found a vulnerability on a production web application was one of the best moment i've ever had, never been so excited!

(mmh, maybe i need to switch to security :D)

the biggest challenge i've faced is to keep up the motivation and lower my frustration where a project enters the AMS phase.

It's so stressful, you stop improving your dev skills and you have to deal with shitty and boring problems everyday.

Last year i had to resolve a really annoying bug, and figuring out how to fix that was a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS.
Now i have to make some adjustment to that fix, and the only comment on that piece of code is: "this is a huge mess, good luck if you need to modify something".

i hate the QA guys when they gets excited finding a "SUPER REGRESSION OMG THE APP IS BROKEN" just to find out that they haven't read the new specifications.

Am I the only one who gets really excited while looking at how other people solve problems and how they make things? even if not related to dev

The best part of being a dev is that I can write useless piece of code like a profanity retweeter bot or a script for auto replying Facebook birthday wishes and have a ton of fun making them
