Tobix1408y@Charmgoggles the security features... It's not even open source... And i don't believe them , it's encrypted... Cause nobody can check it
-
Tobix1408y@Charmgoggles is it? Don't think so... But in the end we have no choice, because very body is using it and no other instand messenger
-
Tobix1408y@bdhobare but.... But... But it's faceboooooook.... C'mon... There must be something not secure :P

githelp30038yWhatsApp has encryption before it was brought, facebook might of changed it but I doubt it
-
To be clear; I don't like the Facebook link and the instantly broken promise (we will never share data). But the encryption has no big flaws (as far as we know). And the protocol seems fine.

Dacexi119978y@Tobix i don't know anyone using WhatsApp. I guess it's bot that popular here in sweden. Here everyone uses snapchat as their IM.

I'm right with you. Did a lot of research on this and oh well yeah. The signal protocol that Facebook implements is a proprietary version. Next to that they still have all your meta data and cloud backups are not encrypted (only in transit the messages are encrypted). Except for that, it's a company (facebook) Thai makes money off of user data and I can't imagine them not being able to access conversation content of around 40 billion messages a day.
I don't use whatsapp for about 1,5 years now. Instead, I switched to Signal which is verifiable.
Didn't expect other people to think like me!
Don't have any sources to back this up because I never took the time to save them (links etc).
