Well, maybe you don ;t get the importance for everyone to know what’s going on, specially with remote work.
Our standups are : 10 min talking about the work, 5 min review des new bugs since previous day.
And me too, I take longer shits lol -

These "everyone holds everyone else's hand" daily standups are a waste of time. -

It's weird. 15 minutes feels like an eternity if the only point is the manager updating their spreadsheet. If it's productive, I wonder why it was so short. -
@SortOfTested I guess it depends from manager to manager. My reason behind doing it is the following: Find out what everyone is doing, pending, having issues with, etc. Devise a path of solution for every other issue that was notified AND in the event of someone wanting to bother my minions with additional bullshit I get to tell said people to fuck off since they are already working on items. It also gives me a chance to assist them better with the things they might be stuck or find proper coaching/resources for them.
It is productive, and normally can take as much as they need for the standup meeting, but it is, at least from my side, made in order to protect them from people bitching at them for not getting things done or being late or not taking care of new items. For smaller things it doesn't even take 15 minutes, most of our mornings are about 5 at most, plus the additional 30 mins of us just bullshitting -

What do you mean "no regular exchange of information"? Is everyone gagged and tied to their chairs? Seriously, what's wrong with approaching people on an on-demand basis?

That's not the purpose of daily stand-ups anyway, so the answer is the same in any case: By setting aside some time together and having that discussion. -
Stand-ups are cool for large teams that work on the same thing, so you know who does what.
When people work on way different stuff or the team is very small, stand-ups make no sense. -
@MagicSowap negative, even if everyone is doing different things it is still necessary to know what everyone is doing and where they are at.

I am so fucking sick of daily stand ups. What a fucking waste of my time, even if it’s only 15 minutes, it fucks up my workflow and is just generally fucking annoying
