Y'know...it kinda hurts when you can play Eugene's Trick bag (Steve Vai, look it up) and damn near everything from Metallica and Van Halen as well as Megadeth on the electric guitar AND your grandmother still hates it.

Wish grand mama would enjoy the amount of skill it takes to pull this shit out. But none the less she absolutely abhors it. I think its funny as all hell.

"Mijo, Mijo listen. That is noise, play Vicente."

This. I'd always be told to go play "real" music on the violin or something (I used to play violin but got hooked to metal and switched to guitar). I suppose keeping long hair and wearing black and a guitar strap with skulls and shit didn't help lol.

They got used to it though and I'm considering picking up the ol violin again, been a while.

@M1sf3t meh, doesn't sound nearly the same. That's a good thing in that the electric violin has its own identity, but it's not an electric guitar.

@M1sf3t yup. I was pointing out why I went electric guitar instead of electric violin but yeah. I've played on a friend's electric violin a few times, definitely a cool experience.

Might pick up one eventually, just don't have time right now.

Hey, fellow musician. I’m a bass player, so not sure if that classes as a musician, I get my kicks from Dirty Loops and funk stuff. Pretty descent slapper and swear by headless bass.
Got a status-graphite stealth headless gorgeous bass its worth nearly double what I paid for it! What’s your guitar?

@helloworld dayum, a status graphite. What made you choose it (and headless in general) over ye olde bass? I have a heavily tinkered-with Squier 60s jazz bass that I absolutely love, but I've never tried a headless bass.

@M1sf3t I have played everything from John Mayer to Eric Clapton and Maroon 5 to her in terms of calm music and she just won't dig it haha. The one time in which she just completely went 0.0 was when I showed her something from Children of Bodom, her face was priceless. When I showed her Eugene's Trick Bag (which i ain't even going to lie, it is about as technical i can get for an "instrumental") she could not even dig the technical efficiency required. Nana just doesn't like the electric guitar man

@RememberMe I wish I knew how to play the violing :( when I was little, my other grandma told me to pick an instrument and I said violin :( she had the money for lessons and everything, but she said no to the violin because she wanted me to pick either guitar or piano. So i went with guitar. But to this day i continue to dream about taking lessons for the violin. Such a cool instrument.

@helloworld sure does man! the bass is an absolutely badass instrument!

I have 3 electric guitars: Ibanez JS100, a custom made Ibanez RG, and a Squier Mexican Strat. I additionally have 3 non electric guitars :D

Been thinking about a Kiesel guitar, but them babies are expensive. Might wait on that for a while since I am more interested in getting me a Bass

@Floydimus made me think of the AC/DC song "Rock n Roll ain't noise pollution"! Love that song.

That's basically "every Mexican grandmother ever" 😝

@RememberMe You can put a new string on in seconds. Stays in tune, no accidental knocking out of tune, smaller length (my bass fits in a hard guitar case). Mine is a carbon fiber through neck. its really light (no back pain). It looks cool. Downsides are that manufacturers are limited. Keisel, status-graphite, ns design (ned steinberger inventer of the system), strandberg and steinberger. Good ones are pricey.

@Floydimus oh hell yes man I love Led Zeppelin. Have tou heard of this band Greta Van Fleet? they are definitely trying to mimic Led Zeppelin vibe and the singer really sounds close to Robert Plant

    @Floydimus
I troll my husband with it whenever he decided to go all metalhead and act tough. "You. Am. Be. Dangerous. now. You. Watch. T. V. After. Take. Trash. Out"

@Floydimus Thanks for that, watched the trailer, looks ace gonna try and watch it over the weekend.
