@Fast-Nop they offered a free ssl but then apparently their setup process broke and made my site unable to work when viewing with https
I bought the ssl cert when I threw my fit just to see if I could get it to work myself. Probably should've used lets encrypt for free but I dont think right when I'm annoyed to the level I was then -
@Fast-Nop I did enjoy when my host just slapped auto renewing letsencrypt on, they even went as far as doing it for all sub domains.
Not all hosts are equal! -

In a market economy with competition, you just can't demand money for something that is available for free. You'll only lose customers to your competitors.
So after my webhost told me the reason my ssl was broke was due to an issue I had no control over i threw a fit any 12 year old would be proud of (im 22) bought a new domain name and ssl certificate. Created an account on digital ocean for the cheapest tier and got to work learning about nginx (just to learn my new thing for the day nothing against apache) real quick
Few hours later https://jessiejfoley.dev is working
No content yet. But no server side errors I cant fucking fix through a limited dashboard
Don't know if that counts as petty but I feel better now
