Ezard19924yGoogle Cloud, Microsoft Azure and AWS all offer this; they all bill to the nearest hour/minute(/second?) as far as I'm aware 🙂
-
taigrr8794y@uyouthe yeah and their phone support is awesome. I've never had a problem they couldn't fix in under 5 minutes.
-
kiki353264y@taigrr they banned me when I tried to sign up but I contacted them and they let me in
-
kiki353264y@webapp they say in their terms that you can ask them not to share your data with third parties ever besides government. I did that and they were like okay we won’t share it
-
webapp5944y@uyouthe to me it seems crazy that you have to ask for that, it should be a default. Especially since you’re paying for the product with actual money. By default, you shouldn’t also have to pay with your data. How many people are going to read that and contact them to keep their data private?
-
kiki353264y@webapp the difference between DO and linode is that you can’t opt out of data sharing with DO lol
-
webapp5944y@uyouthe I use Pcextreme, but they only have monthly plans, not hourly.

webapp5944y@uyouthe analytics yes, but not private information. By the way, they have to make sure all collected data is anonymous, they even can’t link that back to your customer profile. GDPR is very clear about that, companies can risk fines of 10% of their annual revenue.

webapp5944y@bosi sorry to start a privacy discussion in your rant, and sorry I couldn’t help, but the best options were mentioned I think 🙂
Good luck! -
Linux438104yJust remember to rent a physical one and not a VM, since you will lose to much performance with cpu_wait
-
McSebi5014yGoogle Cloud demo comes with over a 100$ of evaluation credit. I don't know if this will be enough, but it might be worth a shot.
-
bosi5094y@McSebi currently, Linode offers a 100$ credit for free as well.
After several steps of verifications I tried out the 32gb dedicated cpu node and I happy with that. Please notice that I have test the provider just a few hours yet so I cannot give any detailed information about hardware quality etc.
For the record: the backends of Linode and digital ocean (I know do from work) are almost the same and even the prices they raise are almost equal.
