				Why buy from ada in europe? There's now a number of vendors in germany, france, etc 🤔
 -

				@SortOfTested can u tell me some? Closest i could think of was amazon.de but they sell them for like 20$
 -

				@yellow-dog When importing to EU/EEA you also have to add the local VAT to the Adafruit price.
Anyway found one for 16€ here (+ shipping at 6-16€ in the EU) at a German shop: https://pollin.de/p/... -

				@heyheni
Raspberry site -> vendor list -> filter by locality -> Google for pi zero w -> win absolutely nothing. -

p100sch13635yMy favorite vendor. Maybe not the cheapest but I like them. https://reichelt.de/ch/de/... -

				I recently wanted to order a bag of springs(yes, normal steel springs) from the US but they wanted 150 bucks for shipping.
We live in interesting times. -

				@yellow-dog same here just bought zero w cost me $25
I could have bought from local shops but they don’t have tracking and cost difference was $8, so just went with amazon -

cprn18355y@yellow-dog AFAIK it runs standard Raspbian distribution without driver issues but I have little to no experience with pies. -

				@yellow-dog i am bit appalled by raspberry pi hype after using one
I got raspberry pi zero w. Wanted to build a little battery powered vital monitor for myself.
problem with all the raspberry pi models is low power mode, i reverse engineered a 650mAh battery pack to power it , power was measured to be 100+ mAh on idle after some configuration got it down to 48mAh which is a lot for OS not doing nothing
Still trying to hack cpu and gpu to squeeze more battery life. In just don’t know why that shit is marketed as a low power computer, clearly raspbian developers doesn’t know what low power means -

				@hardfault
Rasbian is the "intro i
Os" for kids and people new to the platform. If you want to minimum what's running, you're going to want to spin your own alpine or similar. -

				@hardfault if you want low power, get an alwinner board, those are optimized to run phones for hours. Broadcom is kinda crap tbh, i guess they have some exclusivity contract and thats why they still use them.

raspberry pi zero w: 10$
shipping to europe: 50$
Thanks adafruit
