Never had a really bad experience. Was just too tired to continue some times after getting tipsy. But I'm always faster.

My first computer was an old Pentium 2 running windows 98 with no internet and just a CD Rom and Floppy Drive. Got it for my 7th Birthday I think and immediately wanted to make it do my biding.

Didn't work out. Had no clue what the words on screen meant and batch scripts looked like sorcery to me.
Hell even the options menu in German was a cryptic puzzle to me.

Got a little better in the meantime.

I search for a problem. Write down all of its aspects. Write down the process I would like to implement for each aspect.

At this point I ask myself which language/db/library... is compatible with my processes. I write down all the data types I would probably need and a rough outline for the ui.

After that I just start coding and go with the flow 3 rewrites later I need a break.

Not very efficient start.

I started with C#at the age of 12, it was way too complicated and I learned Lua for Computer craft instead. Next I learned Ruby for RPG Maker and finally Javascript for web Dev stuff.
Now comfortable enought with Javascript but put off by its quirks I learned Java for compiling faulty minecraft mods, but I only fully learned it in school.
At the same time I learned python and quite liked it for scripting, but ultimately it was not a good match for my projects.
Disapointed with Java I returned to C# and liked it quite a lot, but started learning C++. After touching my first Microcontroller I learned C and I've stuck with it as my favorite language.
Along the way I picked up Kotlin, in case I need to do some Java shit. Much better.
But how did I come to an understanding of programming. Well I got better after each time I got a layer deeper until I hit silicon.
I had tinkered with electronics since I was 15 so I just had to study some boolean mathematics in school and some vintage computers architecture and instruction sets and...
Then I finally understood how that shit I wrote in Lua way back when was actually executed by my hardware.

Allways dig deeper and you'll find enlightenment eventually.

I just thought about shelfing the progress of a colleague that always leaves his pc unlocked and resetting his branch to the last release locally.
But that would be a bit too harsch and risky.

I just saw an ad by a viral marketing agency thisventviral.net that sell a 16GB USB stick with an os image they call Xtra-PC for 29,60.
I immediately noticed that it seemes to be a simple USB boot stick with a Linux distro with a Windows like ui and OpenOffice and other software pre installed.
They guy took out his CD drive bay an claimed that he removed the hard disk. While odd his clames about faster speeds are obviously true because microshaft windows and office are bloated pieces of shit.

So this leaves me in the odd position that a viral marketing scam selling you over priced USB sticks and an image you probably could find for free, also makes people adopt Linux instead of the bloated shit. And that with people that won't notice any of the downsides of using Linux.

Wired position, should I hate them or should I commend them for theire unintended efforts spreading Linux desktops?

I have acquired a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system with a broken discplayer. I can not finde anything about the connector for the intact speakers but it seems to use a protocol instead of analog signals.

Does anybody here know something about them and theire speakers?

I'm not sure if this should be a joke or random, but the SBB train info screen in St. Gallen on platform 5 just decided to interpret the data given a bit differently than intended.

It is not broken and no other screen has that problem. What could it be, I wonder. But I don't care enouht to post it as a question.

Does anybody know where to start when implementing your own language as a plugin in Visual studio.
Sure, I could modify a plugin for another language, but I'd like to learn it, and Google just spits out garbage.

I think I need glasses (or at least more coffee) but every time I think about contributing to an open source project maintained by a "Comunity", i find out that I missed the smelly bits in theire massive coc that they want to ram down your throat.

Eigther I missed them every time or some fuck puts them in after I read them.

Music volume, doing your laundry during builds, have an entire kitchen to yourself, no boss can proof that you watched a Anime while waiting for a build, nobody can seek up on you. That's pretty much the most important things.

Wash your hands longer, use desinfactant, don't get too close to each other and dab when sneezing. So not really any thing. It is already expectet of you that you go do home office when your sick.

Ban visual programming programs, like scratch after the fist month introduce them to enhanced Google search strings and let them code on the command line going from imperative, over functional to object oriented programming styles using languages suited for the current style. Not like using Java from the get go. I hated it, waiting until everyone got to the point where they kind of understood the logic but failed at using correct syntax and efficient coding styles.
