lotd77738yRemember, "the customer is always right."
Sorry, couldn't resist :p
Anyways, if they think so.. Then why do they not do exactly that themselves :) -
We are in the automation business. We code stuff that unemploy other people. Why should web designers be any different? Even when working in an agency we used such website builders to „build“ stuff for low-budget or give-away projects.

It depends what they need. The lucrative work will always be there. We are in a great profession.

kshep9232678ySorry to say, but web design has become very commoditised in recent times. If someone wants a website and are too lazy to use Wix, I'd gladly take a few dollars to do it for them.
I've learned long ago that most customers don't care if you use nails or duct tape to hold the structure together, as long as the final product looks good and works as expected. -
mundo0349078yJust remember two things:
1)Smart people are full of self-doubt, stupid people are full of confidence
2)it takes a stupid call to point out another stupid person
Be careful on how you call people. -
n1had22978yBut squarespace tho
Quite sexy tbh
(Which there was an opensource engine similar to it) -
You can't do Netflix, Spotify, Goggle, and a bunch of other things using this services. When some one came to me asking for a website or store without anything new or very customise, I always send they this services. Budget and necessity are what talk's. Simples like this.

ak4rp0v08yA friend of mine was trying to buy a big and popular ebay-like web project in a third-world county for a six digit amount of dollars, and the bank blocked his transfer for investigating the situation. They said that the transfer looked like money laundering, because the price was too high. The guy from the bank security asked his friend web developer how much could such a project cost, and he said that the domain is 9,99, and the programming would be about 1000$ using some e-commerce cms, and not a cent more. It took one month to make the bank transfer the money...

I'd love to make my own stuffs all the time, but I don't have much time to write code for myself.
So I'm glad there are some off the shelf products out there.
And clients get spoiled by everything. They read that Zuckerberg made Facebook in college and think anyone of us can just do it in three months. It's a matter of educating them.
