You might want to flip the radiator so that the tubes are at the bottom side, especially if you get burping noises. At least that installation shouldn't cause premature death. Check this out for explanation https://youtu.be/BbGomv195sk

@electrineer Oh wow, never knew that before, thanks! I guess I also need to change the orientation of the pump too.

Parzi86634y> B450
the one thing you don't skimp on is a mobo. The B450 is almost out of support, and a lot of them aren't entirely at new PCI-e specs, so they'll bottleneck new GPUs. They also don't all support all Ryzens, especially not the ones that were just released. This means any large future upgrades will need a new mobo. "Because it's cheap" becomes $120 every upgrade instead of $180 once for the next 3 upgrades. -
@Parzi Yeah I agree with you but I'm not planning to upgrade anytime soon so I settled with b450
-
Can you even rotate the block 90 degrees? Then the logo vill be sideways? Maybe not worth the trouble if that's how they designed it.
-
@cabbybaby The PSU is massively overdimensioned (450W or 550W would do) and won't be efficient at its low load. Any particular reason?
@Parzi B450 will get BIOS updates also for the new Zen3 - likely in January. That reduces the demand spike upon launch.
Also, the whole AM4 platform is EOL so you won't be able to upgrade much on a B550. -
Parzi86634y@Fast-Nop i was thinking more the X3/4/570 line... and supposedly, no, the B450 won't get Zen 3 updates from what I've heard.
-
@Parzi X570 sucks because of the chipset fan that most boards have. X370 is even more outdated than B450. X470 will also only get Zen3 Bios in January.

Parzi86634y@Fast-Nop I had a brainfart, I didn't mean to add the 3... though if you were worried about fan noise you'd be running passive cooling only, no? Or at least not-air?
-
@Parzi chipset fans are typically small which means high rpm and noise. And probably hard to get replacements for when they die.
-
@Parzi I have a Scythe Mugen 5 that is good for 130W on a 65W CPU, which is why it's inaudible. That's also because it has a 120mm fan, not these small suckers like chipset fans. And I can easily replace it if need be.
Finally able to complete my almost-aorus build!
