Tell them to go fuck themselves. Oh if their site slowly gets... Invisible it isn't your fault ๐

Jappe29138yI got fired because the company didn't want to buy a premium account for WordPress.com (yeah I know, WordPress๐ญ) and I couldn't change the themes' settings because WordPress didn't allow it..
Then I tried to use inline html and css and that made it a bit better. They wanted things that weren't possible and that's why they fired me.. ๐
And you what: They wanted themes' color also blue๐ Blue is a possessed color..๐ฑ -
Jappe29138y@sgoten yeah. I did everything they asked me, but it wasn't enough apparently..๐ Well, I see sunny of it too: I can focus on school

If you use a own domain, and download WordPress you can customize it -
Jappe29138y@sgoten I know.. I asked them if I could do that, but they were scared they'd be hacked if the WordPress-site was hosted on their own servers. (Then don't use WordPress ๐)

You mentioned going back to school. Here's what likely happened. They are unsure where your loyalties lie so they used this as a "reason" for termination.
I've been there and this is what you do:
Granted that you signed no sort of non-compete paperwork, you call the manager/owner and let them know that you will not stop short of outselling them and running their business out of town.
Then, you compile a list of prospects including the client you worked on. Contact them. Explain to them that unfortunately you were let go from their projects unethically and that you would like to stay in touch.
Then you bust ass and sell. Look for local businesses on billboards that don't have a website. Call them. If they can pay 3 to 4 grand for a billboard, they can afford a decent WordPress site from you.
Get 6-7 real good clients and keep them happy. Now you have money for college.
My experience is from 2008 to present day.
I got fired for not making the background of our website blue
