Anyone ever had exams, where teacher tell you that if you study on said part of the course and you'll pass, then got completely blindsided on the actual exam... Oh the horror 😂

Two days ago, some student in my human-computer interaction class asked the prof what they should study and the prof responded "it's called the textbook." I have never seen anyone get shut down so hard.

That's how you fuck over the ones who only study to pass the exams. Back when I tutored Physical Chemistry I always had a bunch of subjects memorized that I knew the Prof would never put in an exam just to see those people break down during the exam. One should study to master the subject not to check of the module, if you don't want to learn it all, wuestion if you're studying the right thing. (Exception: Anything related to economics, I don't expect anyone to be interested in kindergarten statistics).

@Godisalie that ain't it. It's more that I hate the fact that we have actual programming exams, on paper. Which is complete shit, since I've never seen code compile on a sheet of paper. So you basically have to memorize parts of the exam 😂

@kingshark You have to memorize syntax and functions. Don't get me wrong, I fully agree that programming exams on paper are, on the stupidity scale, up there with reality soaps and canned meat but they test if you know the language. No code completion, no proposals, no syntax highlighting, no fancy IDE functions at all, just you and the skills you bring to the table. As useless as they might be (and I could spend hours debating the uselessness of exams) they're almost beautiful in theur simplicity.

@Godisalie that I agree with, you should know basic syntax, that's a given. But it's still shit to have them on paper, especially when the reason is "resources aren't enough" 😂
