Seeing as quite a few people here use Macs, I wonder.. How many have tried Hackintosh? Kinda curious about projects like iAtkos but don't feel like donating nor replacing my gtx 1080 for the purpose..

Not that I would want to build a "cheapskate" Mac workstation but rather for educational purposes.. :)

I have a x99 build with gtx 1070. Hackintosh is massive pain if you want to natively use it with the hardware (dual boot). I use it with Vmware Player and it's kinda okay. It's much less destructive imo. But then hackintosh plays differently in every different hardware. If you have a z170 hardware then it should be much easier.

And for hackintosh I think https://www.tonymacx86.com always works best.

@tahnik my cute little Msi h110 pro should play well as far as I can tell but the gtx graphics seems to have zero support yet, from what I can tell

@lotd Yeah 1070/80 is a pain in the arse in these unix systems. I had major problems with fedora and ubuntu because of this gpu.
