    I'd recommend you read this

That's my problem. I start to learn a language and then I see a language which is just infinitely more functional and then I drop the original language and start to learn the latter.

    So on so forth :P

@complxalgorithm Thank you for the link but I'm not new to programming.

I'm just looking for one to learn in my spare time

@compSci ever dabbled in data science/analytics? if not, and you're interested in doing so, I'd recommend either Python or R

Have you taken a look at Rust?

Nay, I've heard it's efficient just never given it a thought to be honest.

I think it's cool the way Rust makes you think about memory management. Garbage-collected languages feel like driving an automatic when you have to manage memory.

@compSci nothing gets more functional then a functional language - try Haskell :)

@Jumpshot44 I'm working on an app currently that'll be shipped out on Android to begin with.
I need a language to deal with the server side of el app.

Javascript is a must for web development, its frameworks are really conquering the scene. And there's also Python and Ruby, two of my favorites.

I'm already pretty fluent in Java script..
I've started the path to learn Ruby

Partially because it's my favourite pokemon game too :')

Python is also nice to start with

Ruby is pretty fun. Python isn't bad either.

PHP stands for "(P)retty (H)ot (P)rogramming", so obviously it's the language of choice. 😎👍
