Just came another iOS app that is an exact replica of its android counterpart! Icons are pixelated...layouts are pathetic..when will people realise that jus replicating apps across iOS and android is the worst thing ever???

It's still better than a hybrid app. That's where nobody wins!

Totally agree ,the designer where I work always designs the app for android , the managment says they have to look the same in both platforms and then I'll have to make it look the same in iOS.
    So frustrating.

From what I saw devRant is a hybrid app. And hybrid apps actually improved a lot, they are getting pretty good now.

Using hybrids because they reduce cost, speed up development and allows you to target multiple platforms more quickly (which is devRant's case) is one thing.

"The app must look the same on both platforms" is a prerogative that does not check any of those boxes. It makes your developer do your designer's work (in correcting for image resolution), it makes your dev jump through some hoops on at least one of the platforms (sometimes you have to sacrifice native, more natural behaviour)... In the end, you're not doing it more quickly nor more cheaply.
