My father got mad at me, because I had a passwd on my Linux-account...

I told him, that he hasn't got anything to do in my mails at all; Now, he took my phone :) Still laughing at his education-methods xD

BTW: I have to code in the Main room, seen by anyone... i feel like a zoo atraction :( Wish, I could put my PC into my room; I'm old enough after all -.-

    Have two accounts secret account and one for him to see.

    It's clear your parents don't code do they... ? What does he expect you to do hack into nasa and it come up with bright green letters saying your in

    If my son was using linux and coded it would bring a proud manly tear to my eye.

    @ElForritari LEL... My father doesn't :(

    @FitzSuperUser Si, they both code... Thats the poor message about it... My father works for SAP, my mother was consultant in IT... They should know that by now :(. but they tought it would be funny to try out "hacking" into my account. They even found a tutorial on how to crack a Linux passwd (changing the boot path in GRUB to /bin/bash), until they realized, my Partition is encrypted xD They are really stupid for programming peoples, especially, as they know, I'm pentesting alot (NO: I'm not illegal, I train on special playground servers, such as labs.pentestit.ru)

    @linuxer4fun I assumed they weren't programmers because in my mind a programmer would be like go ahead... And not ever limit you.
    Unless they think your motives are dodgy ? Ay ay? 😂

    @linuxer4fun Perhaps once you bring in beaucoup bucks with a coding job he might change his views :) Ultimately it is for you what you are doing, don't worry about the haters/ludites, whether familly or not. A thirst for learning and a curious mind should be always lauded. Keep at it, it pays off in the end.

    @ElForritari Thank you ;-) I hope, He will understand my hobby one day... Atleast he lets me program for my competition (Jugend-Forscht) where I build a compiler... I have 4 Months for a big team to do in one month, so yeah....

    Sounds like pretty restrictive parents. They obviously don't realize that you're just having fun and being curious. In a safe way.

    @Lel00 Actually, I program about 5h aday...

    BUTHEY, Atleast, they know how important it is to have background music and play music the whole time... Not even good music, but... JUST to get me out and play skateboard. Obviously, I hear Heavy metal, to not hear the abomination of my father killing the piano, and then, he even gets madder at me, when he sees, that I hear metal, because he is BIASEd, that Metal is for stupid people... LORD, SAVE ME!

    @FitzSuperUser My motives aren't dodgy. I am open to my parents, tell them most of the things I do, and never do illegal things... But now, I'm almost in front of the door to the main-room and... Well... I am like a bear in a zoo. Whenever friends of my siblings come, they read behind my back too. "what are you doing? You have no life (wich I obviously don't have xD)! Drink bleach or do something good for the common (A friend of my sibling said that to me, as I was uploading a patch on the Linux kernel... )" Thats really not something i enjoy... BUT STILL: I won't stop coding!

    Sheesh - best of luck man - yeah 2FA would be good to set up (two factor authentication) instead of your password.

    But using the computer in public? That would distract me and irritate me to hell!

    Did they give any reasons for being so restrictive? Perhaps you should try being more social - devote like 3 hours of quality social time to spend with your family a day - they may just not want you to be in your room all day. Been there before man, I feel you.

    Love em' but leave em' go to a college or something and surround yourself with more coders, no one needs their dreams being assaulted by others for no reason. Just keep doing what you are doing man 🤘

    @Lel00 Actually, I'm pretty sociable: I have started sleeping polyphasically, to be more with them...

    @RStrydom Thanks ;-) Unfortunately, I'm the only coder in my school, so... Yeah... BUT: I'm still planning to go to an hackathon in 2018... I just wonder, how I'm gotta get there xD

    @Archang3l My father actually used to look up my history once in a month, until I set up a passwd... I also got rid of the Kid-surveilance module, as he got mad at me, when I googled POO (wich is french (atleast it was written so in my french programming book) for object oriented programming). But yeah... Atleast he doesn't know, that I'm sleeping polyphasically, he would kill me instantly xD

    @Lel00 How is he gonna use two factor without a phone?

    My mom got mad at me because I wouldn't let her read my messages xD
  • 2
    @linuxer4fun @FitzSuperUser You shoud go into hackertyper and try to get the access granted, yell YES! then SHIT! and just run 😂😂😂
