What OS is the best for programming?
Me:

I'm with you there. I'm a fan of writing my code on Linux machines and working with Linux servers.

Good reason to code on Mac: iOS dev

(Only?) Good reason to code on Windows: PC game dev

@corscheid both Unreal engine and unity have pretty good linux versions of the editors nowadays. UE4 is final on linux (tho you have to compile from source) and unitys test builds are pretty stable as well.

As long as you don't go the directX route theres pretty much nothing stopping you.
