    This happened to me.

    I literally switched to Mac.

    Haven't run windows or coded .net in like 8 years now. Haven't missed it.

    That never happens on my gaming PC.

    But that lazy spoiled brat of an nVidia GPU driver likes to randomly stop working when Cyberpunk 2077 gives it some honest hard labor for once.
    Windows just gives it the standup kick every time that happens though. So i always can continue gaming without having to restart Windows.

    Sometimes a game fails so hard that it apparently drags windows with it. You can try to open the task manager but it will just present to you a black or frozen screen with music playing on in the background. So it’s not dead but you can’t do anything but put a pillow on it’s face until it suffocates and restart the whole machine.
    I never understood what weird shit is happening there.

    Thats why I love the X11 server. It got stuck but you have an important forked process running? Ctrl-alt-Backspace the fucker and you are good to go again.

    tasklist | findstr 'Taskmgr'
    taskkill /PID <the pid found in line 1>

    @Lensflare
    If a user space application (like a game) can lock up that hard, there always also is a bug in the OS or one of the drivers involved.
    Without help of bugs in the OS or drivers, user space applications can only crash themselves.
