Why did the web developer leave the restaurant?

Because of the table layout.

As if they care about it

I work on a product that still heavily relies on tables for layout.

In fairness to the folks who wrote it ages ago ... that really was the only way at the time, and they didn't get TOO crazy with it.

Granted I unweave the weave a lot and take out tables in favor of flexbox or the given css framework's grid and such when I can.

Is this some frontend joke I’m too DBA to understand?

Why did the developer resign? Because he wanted arrays 😁

Email too..... but the application itself has a bunch of old pages still based on tables!

But you know it works, the web is surprisingly fault tolerant and handles older technology not too bad.

@N00bPancakes yeah, but it comes with a cost.
Sometimes it’s just better to burn the old shit to the ground and start from scratch where we don’t need to support ancient crap.
