The time it takes to develop a feature is the square root of the time it takes explaining it to the PM

Mine: “Yeah yeah, I got it. Okay. Yeah. When will it be done?”

So more like t^(y^(y+3)) where `t` is the total time you spent explaining and `y` is the number of “yeah”s, mostly due to “unforeseen changes” to requirements (or usually: miscommunicated)
