My dad showed me vb.net when I was 13 or something and just went ahead to try to make different types of games with Windows forms, it was a lot of fun even if the games were garbage(I had a gazillion buttons on one because I couldn't figure out how to make the logic reusable with the hp bar); it is what put me on the programmer/engineering path

Your dad sounds amazing. Wish my dad had the same interests at all.

I discovered vb in a library at like 12-13 (hell if I can remember).

Was embedded in word (I think) or something.

Library had a note on the computers that said "strictly for looking up books" but the pc was in an alcove away from the librarians desk.

Noodled around with vb for a while when I got past the fear that I'd get in trouble for misusing the computers!

First ever program was a calculator.
