Just go for one that is reasonably cheap and unlikely to get more expensive over time.
Traditionally, that would indeed be your motherland's TLDs. But some countries' use their TLDs as cash cows.
In that case you might have to actually compare prices and look at who owns the TLDs and what they did to them in the past.
If you aren't a US citizen, you also might want to avoid US-based registries as they can be forced to shut down domains of citizen and companies of a "sanctioned" country... -
just go with whatever, I don't think it's a big deal
I do expect ".net" to be more oriented towards actual networks or orginisations, but otherwise who cares
I personally have a com, even though I dont have any business on it, since I made a joke of another .com and parodied it -
sariel85313yI have a couple '.com' and a couple '.studio'
It's not what your content is anymore, it's about what you can afford.
You want to register oopspoops.com, go for it instead of oopspoops.co.au

What would be the most semantic option for a domain if it's just a personal space? .com means commerce, .net means networking services, I think space means... space, the sky... and it's a bit long... .dev? .xyz?
Should I just forget about this and either go with a regular .com or something cheaper I find?
