Why do you seem to believe programming is the only profession that requires effort?

@RememberMe It's NOT about effort. It's about the rewarding nature of this profession.

Implementing a small feature in an app or contributing one or two lines to an open-source project might give programmers a sense of self-satisfaction. At least, that is what I believe.

@stackphish again, not exclusive to programming.

There only difference is the kind of tasks we do and the skills to achieve them.
