Your most ridiculous recruiter experience?

I never finished college. It says so on my resume, in plain English. I don't try to hide it.

A recruiter tells me I'd be a good fit, I give the green light, and he calls back two days later to ask: "Hey, when did you get your degree?"

Me: "I didn't."

I haven't heard from him since. Is it that hard to read a resume?

    @gashadokuro Honestly, if a company puts that much value on a degree, especially over actual skill and experience, I probably don't want to work there.

    don't get me wrong, a degree is good and should be respected, but it's not everything.

    Same thing happened to me, I instead just decided to take the entire Education section out of my resume so no one would confuse my listing of [incomplete] with saying I have a degree.

    @lreading this makes me feel better about myself after being told by teachers that my degree is the only thing that will allow me to be successful

    @tisaconundrum A degree will definitely help you. I'm in no way discouraging anyone from finishing their degree, but if you didn't finish, that doesn't mean game over!

    @tisaconundrum hard not to be successful after a degree, it gets you motivated to pay down all that student debt!
