My Windows partition boots faster than Ubuntu, but the shutdown is way slower. :P

I boot my laptops only a few times per year... Unsuspend works instantly :)

Errrr maybe because most Macs have an ssd? My windows laptop boots in 8 seconds

I recently helped trouble shoot a laptop with the 'suspiciously quick boot time' problem. It turned out to be a timing error on behalf on the computer owner: he measured the time until the login screen showed up. The time until the IDE or web browser was running and was responsive, so that actual work could be done, was still over a minute away.

@Mayhem93 Same here, boots in 6 seconds on HDD.

I think macs (pre '13) have pretty slow boot times. Who cares though, I haven't seen the boot screen for months. 😂

@curlmudgeon Because I have many services in the background, and they take a while to fully end.
