@iiii True and worth it if you want to customise and control what each key/keybindings do.

I'm interested in those too. I'm going to try a Boardwalk layout first to see if I like ortho at all.

To all those of you who say 200 or 300 bucks are a lot for a keyboard - can you name another part that costs as much, that you probably use 8-10+ hours a day and that won't go obsolete in 5-6 years?

Went with a R-Go keyboard (and a cheap Delcato numeric keyboard).

Yeah don't buy an Ergodox, they're overpriced and - what most probably know with a bit of experience - overkill. Most of the keys just aren't placed in useful ways.

If you don't mind a more DIY approach you could go for a kit. Of course everyone got different preferences, but I'd say the Kyria has one of the most ergonomic layouts. I have a very similar one and it just fits like a glove.

But beware, this is a rabbit hole with the deepest caverns and a few wormholes sprinkled in.

@dmonkey for me it's mostly about ergonomics. I want a more comfortable position for my hands and because I have short arms and small hands (think T Rex) regular keyboards pretty much always forces my arms or hands to be stretched out more than what's comfortable in the long run.

And also, it looks cool. 😆

Did I say, ErgoDox were the only ones? No.

@dmonkey They offer way better ergonomics than the average/standard keyboard and even compared to the full-sized ergonomic keyboards, which may only suit certain people's build.
