Devs are my closest friends and I have learned so much from you all.

They ask some of the best questions, their skill set is ever evolving, they have the real problem solving mindset, they are critical towards any and everything in a good way, and so much more.

There was this thread asking what a bad Product Manager is and this answer takes the cake.

To be honest, it seems whoever wrote that has no idea what a PM is, seed the issue from a single perspective, have worked with mediocre PMs to bad ones, and the only thing they think would help a PM is becoming a developer.

What makes a bad PM is the same thing that makes a bad developer: Value their role over everyone else's, along with their own processes and ideas.

Also that red line is BS, innovation comes from everywhere, engineers and designers are the ones that can make it happen, but ideas come from anyone. Let's adjust Ratatouille tag line for this: "not everyone can innovate, but innovation can come from the most unexpected places"

@mundo03 I agree. Seems like the Reddit post is either written by an engineer or made to cater to engineers for likes. ESPECIALLY the highlighted point. Innovation comes from ANYWHERE, even leadership positions. And importantly, an innovative leader can bring ridiculous success to a project.

Example? Steve. Fucking. Jobs. I've read lots of primary sources on how he operated. He knew how to manage his fucking resources. He was more than just a pop culture jackass. He really was the best engineering manager.
