@aviophile yes, very edgy, I'm sure. what's your definition of "intended"? Smalltalk? Actor model?

OOP gets a bad rap as it is so commonly the victim of the Functional Decomposition, God Class, Lava Flow, and Poltergeist anti patterns.

Good OOP is beautiful, but it requires planning, revision, good management, and real world understanding. All of which are scarce and precious resources in Software Engineering.
