The tag row is a comma separated string of words, without hashes. This is written in the field itself. Who coded this person without including basic reading comprehension?

Avatars are only available above 10++. There should be a popup or something to tell you this, if there isn't one I agree this is a problem. I think I got one, maybe it's been removed since or maybe you failed to read it like you failed to read the label in the tag row.

By the way DR is made by two people in their free time so go easy on them. Minor UX problems often go unfixed on account of lack of energy.

Correction: the lack of hashes isn't written in the tag row, but there are no websites that both keep a separate tag section and require hashtags so that can't possibly be the default. Tumblr has hashes but it also manages the whole thing for you so you never need to type them.
