mundo0349798yDepends on your hosting. PHP works everywhere, not every hosting support python but for cgi.

darddan2338yIf you're only going to learn one of these two, I would suggest python. It runs "slower" than php, but you can use it for other things except the web in the future if you want to!
Otherwise I would suggest javascript with nodejs. Reasons: biased 😂 -
If I'm picking I'd say Python, because it'll be more generally applicable outside of web programming too. While you CAN do some general purpose programming in PHP, you really wouldn't want to.
You should really try both and see what you prefer in your particular setup and situation. The best programmers are the ones who never stop learning and are willing to try new things.
I have nothing against PHP, I just like Python more. 😀 -

I don't know where you are located but honestly if you want a webdev job, all the listings mention php as a main required skill while I've seen python maybe once or twice...
Right now there's a better market in the Netherlands for a php device than a python webdev.
