Spent an entire fucking day updating various statues.

Fuck!! Managing and being hands on at the same time is fucking draining.

My current employer pulled that shit on me.

I called a meeting and asked my superiors what my title was. None of them could agree. I told them to pick one or I would.

I don't have a problem being a manager, and I don't have a problem with being a developer. I can't be both, was working 16-18 hour days. Now it's 8-12 hours a day.

Whatever you want, make damn sure you're getting something out of it.

During that time I let my health go a bit, now I've got some permanent damage that I'll need to live with forever.

@sariel yes, I cannot let this affect my health, which is of utmost importance to me.

My leadership is supportive and constantly keeps asking whether I am overloaded or not. Until today, I kept stating that I was having fun because I wasn't burdened with silly stuff.

But today I realised that status updates are just too much for me to do and the only reason we do is to pamper higher managements ego. Which I will never support.

Will be taking this up with my manager on Monday. I can happily do the job hands on/off but as you mentioned, doing both is nuts.
