    @ryanmhoffman a flame war?
  • 1
    @josh1238 what is that icon?

    @Aptget yeah a flame war. An argument? You know tabs vs spaces, macOS vs Windows vs Linux, { on new line or not, which editor is best, etc. all start flame wars.

    @ryanmhoffman Easy: tabs, Linux, no new line, Sublime 3
  • 3
    @SZenC I was right there with you till sublime. I'm an Atom guy.
  • 1
    @ryanmhoffman Well, I don't dislike Atom like I hate vim. Atom is pretty good, I just prefer sublime πŸ˜‰
  • 1
    It doesn't matter... All IDEs have a setting that you just need to change.
  • 2
    @Greggergalactic I think that's the standard in C# but yeah I hate it too.
  • 2
    @ryanmhoffman oh thanks for the explanation :) and I'm an atom guy too πŸ‘

    @Greggergalactic I was going to try that vim adventure, but it doesn't workπŸ˜•

    var a
    ,b
    ,c;

    over

    var a,
    b,
    c;

    @SZenC Easy: spaces, Linux, newline, Brackets πŸ˜‰

    @magnusi Blasphemy I tell you, BLASPHEMY!
  • 1
    @Greggergalactic Thanks for the vim adventure hint! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰

    @SZenC did you mean "no carriage return"?

    Windows \r\n
    Linux \n

    Edit: @magnusi got the right idea

    @Aptget it's a fishing rod with a fish biting. Best emoji I could find atm for "bait"

    Every language should be like Go. No unnecessary flame wars about how to format the code.
  • 2
    Easy: Neither spaces nor tabs, newline before and after {, WordPerfect.

    if (condition)

    {

    DoSomething
    ()
    ;

    }

    How to trigger people in flame wars 😁

    VIM is the shit. But I'm using different idea and editors for months so I can use and get familiar with all of them. VIM for Crystal and some onthego editing via Android terminal, vscode for crystal, typescript, phpstorm for PHP and sublime when I want just to open text files.

    Also guys, why tabs? I thought tabs are obsolete for about 5 or so years
