The NFT craze suggests to me that the “future generations” part is somewhat optimistic, and probably more than we deserve.

Future generations will probably be well aware of the authoritarian and very expensive banking system that made crypto so appealing.

it just propped up speculative trading which is the ruin of america, and the ability to sponsor corruption and bankroll sex and narcotics traffickers, which is the other.

in a narrow window, maybe a few people who were fleeing from injustice were able to help themselves, but this isn't so likely as you need a lot of money to make money off a 1 to 2% price increase.

and i rethink that last bit since eventually all money not earned under the table becomes traceable and in the ever increasing asocial climate in which we find ourselves only truly guilty people are often helped anymore by anyone else.
